A record number of classic tractors will be on show at one of the country's largest steam and vintage machinery events.
Visitors will be also able to see a one of the rarest tractors still in operation, a World War 2 Wood Burning Tractor. Wood gas vehicles were used during World War 2 as a consequence of the rationing of fossil fuels, at the time 4,000 tractors were produced. It will be letting off some steam in the arena as part of the popular 'Dancing Tractors' display.
Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club's annual show will be on August 3-5 2018 at South Cerney Airfield in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
This year organisers are anticipating a record number of more than 200 classic tractors. There will also be vintage displays of nearly 700 classic cars from pre and post war, including more than 70 classic American, 30 visiting car clubs plus 300 motorbikes, scooters, 70 bicycles from 1903 - 1980, 30 miniature steam engines, 90 stationary engines, 70 full size steam engines, model engineering, 200 tractors more than 80 buses and coaches, 120 military vehicles, 240 emergency and commercial vehicles, 60 industrial trucks, 50 vintage caravans and over 50 model aircraft taking to the sky above.
