A FARMER-OWNED business has announced a loyalty bonus payment of almost £300,000 to its shareholders.

Mole Valley Farmers has said payment covers the financial year from October 1 2022 until September 30 2023. It was earned through points on the purchase of key agricultural inputs and was paid out in the form of Mole Valley Farmers gift cards in December 2023.

In total, the business paid out £292,512 through the scheme, which has been running for two years.

CEO of Mole Valley Farmers, Jack Cordery, said: “Our unique loyalty bonus scheme underpins our cooperative ethos and is a recognition and thank you for the loyalty of our shareholders who support the business with the purchase of their essential farm inputs including feed, minerals and fertiliser.

“The scheme is designed to return money to our shareholders based on what they spend. The more essential inputs that are sourced through us, the more they receive. By working together, with our shareholders committing to buying through us, the better the deals we can secure. In a challenging environment, it is essential we secure competitive prices so we can continue to deliver outstanding value for our farmer shareholders.

“The past year has seen pressure on farmgate prices, high interest rates and high inflation. We firmly believe we are collectively stronger when we work together, using our scale and buying power to weather price volatility, ensure security of supply and combat general unpredictability in the market.”

The loyalty bonus scheme is continuing this year. For more information visit the Mole Valley Farmers website.
