BUYERS from all parts of the South West were not deterred by Blue Tongue restrictions as they attended Talehouse Farm, Payhem-bury, Honiton where Malcolm and Joy Granger dispersed their herd of non-pedigree Holstein Friesians.
Stags Auctioneer of Tiverton reported an averge for 48 cows of £1,476.37 resulting in a top price of 2700gns for a recently calved third calf daughter of Moet Rio Grand.
The calf was purchased by Mr Bulled of South Molton who took two other lots at 2000gns.
Demand for Heifer calves was very buoyant selling to 800 gns for a three-month-old daughter of Alfrag Juror Kendall.

18 Served Heifers - £1,414.58; 10
Bulling/Yearling Heifers - £972.30
17 Heifer Calves - £693.
