A traditional Cornish agricultural show is set to make its return after a three year hiatus following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Helston Fatstock Show this year marks the 150th year the show has been held.

The show is one of, if not the oldest, of the winter livestock shows, being held on November 12 at Franchis Farm on Redruth Road.

Entry is free to everyone and during the day there will be a raffle and auction that will be raising money for the charity choice of the show's President.

This year’s president is Lady St Levan, who has chosen St Petrocs as her charity and will be raising money for homeless people in Cornwall.

The show has cattle and sheep classes, where you can see the animals close up, farm produce, fruit and veg, domestic cookery, handicrafts, photography, eggs and children’s classes all under one roof.

Besides the showing classes there is also a craft market with 40 stalls, for anyone who wants to get that unique Christmas present or something for themselves.

There will also be the Royal Cornwall roadshow where children can learn about farming and meet the animals close up.

The show is open to the public from 10am, and runs until 4.30pm.

A spokesperson for the show said: "We look forward to seeing all our exhibitors, and seeing the show back to its best after the three year break."
