FINAL preparations are taking place ahead of this weekend's Circus Spectacle in Poole.

The Poole Business Information District (BID) team have paid a visit to Hollywood Fancy Dress to get into the spirit of the event.

They donned some of Hollywood’s best circus costumes for a spot of clowning around.

Taking place on Saturday, the circus-themed event will bring a host of performers to Poole High Street and Poole Quay from 10am until 6.30pm.

BID manager Ailsa Wilson said: "We are extremely excited for the Circus Spectacle to roll up this Saturday. The day will be non-stop fun from start to finish and will be a chance to see a range of circus acts, including Jamie Jigsaw, Thomas Trilby, Steve Kaos, as well as many other thrilling performers who are recognised across the world for entertaining crowds with their extraordinary talents.

“Not only is this a day for fun, but it is also a chance for visitors to support their local high street and see what Poole has to offer. This is the first circus-themed event of its kind in the area, so we are looking forward to the day being a great success.”

The line-up of acts includes an award-winning juggler, stilt walkers and a pirate-themed acrobatic act.

Organised by Poole BID and Thirty 12 Events, the free event is open for everyone to enjoy in Poole.

A BID spokesman said: "Poole BID works in partnership with other organisations including the local businesses, BCP Council, Dorset Police and Poole Tourism with the aim of making Poole an attractive place to live, work and visit.
