The largest entry of prime cattle for a few months met an improved trade with averages up 10p/kg for both steers and heifers. Given the number forward trade remained firm throughout.

Limousin crosses from Messrs. W.T. Bryant & Sons of Mawgan sold to a premium of 195p/kg and £1,346 for a big 690kg steer bought by Dales Family Butchers of Helston; with a further steer from Messrs. Bryant realising 194p/kg to David Wilton of Peter Morris Butchers, St. Columb.

Premium heifer from Messrs. R.H. & C.D. Care of St. Buryan being a Limousin x and realising 188p/kg to David Ellis of Lelant; a grand 708kg South Devon x heifer stood top value at £1,239 for Mr. R.H. Eddy of Tehidy and bought by Trevarthens of Roskrow.

A big Swedish Red & White x cow weighing 823kg from Messrs. P.J. Grylls & Son of Kenwyn topped the dairy sorts at 126p/kg and (£1,037); with a pair of Friesians at 125p/kg for Messrs. B.L. Hearn & Partners of Whitecross and Messrs. W. Marsh & Son of St. Stephen, all bought by Dawn West Devon.
