Following last week's call for responses from farming organisations by Chris Packham in regards to the dead crows posted on his gate, statements have been issued denouncing the incident.

On 25 April, Chris Packham tweeted an image of dead crows hanging from the gate at his New Forest home that had been left there overnight.

The act occurred on the day that Natural England temporarily revoked three general licences for controlling certain wild birds following campaigns by an organisation called 'Wild Justice' led by environmental campaigners including Chris Packham.

In his tweet, Packham called on farming and rural organisations, asking them to comment on whether they condoned the act.

The National Farmers' Union (NFU) condemned the incident, saying it was "completely unacceptable".

Natural England also said it doesn't "condone this type of behaviour".

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) responded to the post, saying that the group "absolutely condemns" such behaviour.

“We are clear – there is no place for illegality in the countryside,” they said.
