Plans to make a song and dance about the end of a four-year heritage project in Helston could have gone awry.

The Helston World War One Heritage Project is looking to mark the centenary of the official end of the war this June with a 'Good Old Days' style music hall show, to mirror the celebrations back in 1919.

However, both the pianist and drummer the group had lined up have had to pull out - meaning two musicians are being looked for to step in and fill the roles.

The show will take place at the Epworth Hall on June 28 and will also mark the conclusion of the project that first formed in 2014.

The group was awarded £10,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2015, initially for a two-year project to mark the centenary of the First World War by bringing together memories and artefacts from the town and the surrounding area.

This has since been extended to span the entire stretch of the war.

Any musicians willing to volunteer would need to be available to run through the show on June 18 and 26, the dress rehearsal on June 27 and show night itself, as well as at least one informal practice earlier on so that the artists and pianist can familiarise themselves with each other.

The hall has a baby grand piano in situ and a small amount of funds may be available if a charge was applicable.
