Questions have been asked over whether Helston should develop its own Neighbourhood Plan.
This would give residents a chance to say what future development they would like and where. Once passed, it would then be taken into account by Cornwall Council when making planning decisions.
The suggestion was made at the last meeting of Helston Town Council by mayor John Martin, who is also a Cornwall councillor.
He said there was a £9,000 grant to help cover the cost developing such a document, adding: “I think we need to discuss whether to progress this.”
