Show holding workshops for Smallholders

Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for environmental and land-based industries, and Business Link West Midlands are hosting a free business development workshop on Friday July 10 during the Royal Show.

This workshop, which takes place between 1:30pm and 4pm in the Global Science & Business Centre (GSBC), is open to all businesses working in the environmental and land-based industries. The training session has been specifically designed by Business Link to meet business needs and will focus on the following topics: · Effectively marketing your business on a budget · Practical tips to improve the performance of your website · Cash flow management and keeping your finances afloat · Ways to cut costs and increase your profit margins · Funding opportunities including Lantra's Women and Work and LandSkills initiatives.

Whilst training is often seen as an area to slash in times of financial worry, recent research (2007) shows firms that do not train are 2.5 times more likely to fail than those who do*.

"It is crucial that businesses are actively looking for new opportunities to succeed within the current recession," said Lantra's National Director for England, Madge Moore. "This session should prove enlightening to businesses, empowering them to make decisions that could help them thrive while others struggle."

Booking places at the workshop is essential so to RSVP, please call 0845 707 8007 or email events@lantra.co.uk The business workshop is part of the Royal Show and although the workshop is free you will have to purchase a ticket to enter the show.
