For the first time ever, a pig feature will be part of this year's Leicestershire County Show. It was the idea of Bidgiemire Pig Co, the specalist pig company based in Scotland. Similar to other pig features that the company have organised at other county shows, the feature will be split into three pens depicting Urban, Woodland and Smallholding pig keeping. Bidgiemire along with local breeders will be on hand to answer questions about all aspects of pig keeping.
The feature will be positioned in the Smallholding area, and the general public will be able to see first hand, Saddlebacks, a Barkshire sow and litter and the very unusual Mangalitza pigs (a woolly coated pig).
Linda McDonald-Brown, part owner of the company will be given two talks on pig keeping during the show.
Pig equipment and arks including the unique totally recycled Urban ark will be available to buy on the day with special show discounts being available throughout the duration of the show.
