TV presenter Dick Strawbridge at Green Homes and Buildings Show

Celebrity television presenter and author Dick Strawbridge will be at this year`s Greener Homes and Buildings Show, one of the UK`s top green construction event.

Strawbridge, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, is no stranger to greener homes, having written a book, 'It's Not Easy Being Green', about his family’s quest to live a 21st century lifestyle without fossil fuels and by producing little or no waste.

From renewable energy to passive solar design, modern insulation materials to traditional building techniques, the show will give visitors the knowledge and materials to take their building projects a step further.

This major event will open with a trade and professional day on Friday 5 June which is deigned to update developers, architects, specifiers, planners and policy makers. Speakers will deliver a range of case studies, outlining green building projects and share practical experience. Strawbridge will then arrive on Saturday as the show opens to the general public for two days. Visitors will be able to meet exhibitors, watch a range of demonstrations, attend workshops and talk to professional advisors. An added attraction this year is a children’s activity area.

All the exhibitors specialise in sustainable construction, environmentally friendly building materials, renewable energy systems and other highly efficient products for homes and buildings.

Whether you’re involved in the renovation of a historic building, looking to see what you could incorporate into your new home or just interested in saving money on energy, the Greener Homes Show will present a range of products and services at one venue.

Buy June's edition of Smallholder magazine to be in with a chance to win 10 adult tickets to give away, these provide entrance on each of the public days, either Saturday 6 or Sunday 7 June 2009. Normal Newsquest competition rules apply.
