Theft of rare breeds

A breeder of rare Orpington poultry has had over 40 birds stolen from her premises at Rowsley, Derbyshire.

The theft happened overnight on March 10 at the holding of Jane Hutchinson. Not only did the thieves steal poultry but equipment as well. Jane Hutchinson The theft was from Rowsley Bar, Chesterfield Road, and police said this type of theft was becoming a problem.

Some of birds taken included: Black Orpington, 11 months cockerel with pullets at point of lay. Exhibition, top bloodline birds.

Two Blue cockerels, 11 months. Exhibition, top bloodline birds.

Five gold laced cockerels, approx 22 weeks, and 15 pullets, at approx 22 weeks, two had green leg rings on, but i guess these will be taken off. if these are offered in large numbers this is very suspicious as these are so rareExhibition, top bloodline birds.

Large gold laced cockerel about 18 months old with hens, same age. Exhibition, top bloodline birds.

One large splash cockerel 18 months old and 4 gold hens, Two Lemon cuckoo orps about 16 weeks.

Four Citrus Sablepoot bantams, 2x cocks, two hens.
