Woodland forum

Whatever the connection with wood or the woodland environment, people are invited to attend the Woodland Forum Day on Saturday, April 5 at Neroche Hall, Nr Bickenhall and then on to nearby Wych Lodge.

The day is organised by the Blackdown Hills Woodland Association and promises to be lively and informative. It will be a mixture of short talks and practical demonstrations. Topics covered will be varied including the woodland grant scheme, wood grazing, sustainable fuel systems, deer management; measurement of trees and cut wood, demonstration of charcoal burning and coppicing.

There will be displays of wood and metal crafts, together with information and advice from local Blackdown Hills organisations and groups. Spaces are limited so it is essential to book by March 31. Further information and bookings either by telephoning John Greenshields on 01823 663409 (+ answerphone) or email to hazelcurtis@btinternet.com.
