Smallholder and Garden Festival
Open Dog Show

The Dog Show is one of the main attractions at the Smallholder and Garden Festival. Each year, the Dog Show maintains its usual high standards, with a large number of different breeds being shown, providing excellent entertainment for the public. Why don't you come along to see your favourite breed of dog being judged?

On the first day of the Show, Saturday 17th May, Sporting dogs will be judged with breeds from the Gundog, Terrier and Hound groups being exhibited. On the second day, Sunday 18th May, Non-Sporting dogs will be judged with breeds from the Toy, Working, Pastoral and Utility groups being exhibited.

The Canine Section's main judge this year is Mrs Christina Chapman. Judging will commence at 10.00am on both days and all dogs being exhibited must be registered by the Kennel Club. No dogs under 6 months of age on the first day of the show may be exhibited. The closing date for entries is Monday 14th April.

Last year the Dog Show achieved one of its main objectives of an average of five dogs entered per class, and next year, hopefully an application will be submitted for Premier Show status.

For a schedule or any further information regarding the dog show please contact: Canine Section Secretary, Mr Denys Simpson: Tel: 01633 859125 or Canine Section Assistant Secretary, Mrs Julie Howells: Tel: 01269 841356
