The market, which takes place at the Old Cattle Market, Helston, operates on the first Saturday of the month. The market is a rain or shine event that continues through the year until the end of December.

Farmers markets are an integral part of the Cornish life and have continued to rise in popularity, mostly due to the growing customer interest in obtaining fresh products directly from the farm.

Helston Farmers’ Market allows customers to have access to locally grown, farm fresh produce. "We usually have a wonderful selection of producers at the market, with the number growing as the season progresses," said Sarah Vine, part of the Market Team.

“The start of the year is typically the time when people are looking to eat more healthily and the Farmers’ Market is definitely the place to stock up on the freshest local produce,” said Emma Harrison (Market Team)

The market has developed a loyal following of local customers and visitors who look forward to buying locally-produced fruit and vegetables, eggs, cheese, fresh meat, game, plants, bread, cakes and pies, jams, pickles and more.

“Direct marketing of produce and products through farmers markets continues to be an important sales outlet for local Producers, many of whom operate within a 20 mile radius of Helston,” said Sarah.
