A fun-filled insight into the countryside and rural life is on the horizon as the date for Springtime Live approaches and tickets are now available.

Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Sunday March 22 will see the second Springtime Live which is aimed particularly at families with young children. The Society is best known as the organiser of the annual Great Yorkshire Show.

Bill Cowling Show Director said: “Springtime Live made its debut last year – and proved a great success, so we are building on that for our second event. We have included the popular elements from last year, but brought in some new attractions too.” Topping the timetable is television’s Mr Bloom from CBeebies’ Mr Bloom’s Garden, whose aim to enthuse children about gardening and nature fits well with the event’s ethos, said Mr Cowling.

Also new will be the opportunity to try a form of tightrope walking, courtesy of The Slackline Company. There will also be farm animals, lots of hands on activities – from rug making to dry stone walling and from mountain biking to bread making. In addition there will be workshops and stands with a wide range of products including food, toys and gifts.
