AS the property market continues its decline and residential development land values plummet, agricultural land ended 2008 up 21.5% on the previous year, demonstrating its relative resilience to recessionary forces.
Whilst land prices may have reached a plateau and eased in some cases following a period of growth over the past two years, sensibly-priced farms and land continue to find purchasers through the ongoing economic slowdown.

Despite the current global economic turmoil and plummeting residential property values in this country, analysis by Savills Rural Research of the performance of the farmland market shows the rural sector bucking trends throughout 2008.
