Jenny Pitman the Association’s President judged a very high class Cuddy, 23 quality animals lined up under the lights, what an impressive sight. Jenny awarded John Thomas beautiful homebred two year old, the HOYS ticket, and reserve was Mrs E. Kilbey’s Welsh A stallion Lazy Busbee.
Fantastic condition and beautifully turned out was the special message to exhibitors from Jenny during her preliminary judging.
The best Saturday night crowd since moving to Newark, saw two proper young showmen reap rewards for their outstanding ability on Saturday Firstly Simon Charlesworth gave the show of his life to win the Ron Hayes non native ridden supreme, those of us who were privileged to see Count Robert Orsich may be reminded of the style of the legend in this young man.
Equally a very fit Mr Kilbey ran the full ring, which is the largest floodlit arena in the UK with his fine moving Welsh A stallion Lazy Buzbee to win the Hindley Cup, the supreme of the show with Simon reserve on Hotless Wise and Wonderful for Mrs V.Rudd.
There was something for everyone, competitors from all over the UK enjoyed the opportunity to train with P(UK) Elite Trainers before the show commenced, a party every night, dog show, driving, miniatures, every level of showing competition and working hunter class, concluding on Saturday with The Riding Club Masters and the best evening performance of the week.
Jenny now moves to the Landrover Burghley International Horse Trials to support competitors in the very prestigious Burghley Event Pony finals. The second phase is a real test for competitors jumping out of the ring on to the International cross country course before returning to the ring to conclude the jumping phase. The qualifier for the SEIB HOYS ticket is a real sight with 29 entries, filling this beautiful ring in front of Burghley House.
To set the day off two representatives from 30 affiliated Pony Clubs from Scotland, Wales, and England will compete for the Mini Burghley Title.
Jenny will then be on the road meeting P (UK) Members and their friends commencing with Derbyshire on September 17th to share her amazing stories of her long and successful career.
