Final touches to Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival

By this time next week, the first Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival will be over! The first Scottish Smallholder and Grower Festival in Forfar market
on Sunday, September 30 will be a showcase for the crafters and
smallholders of Scotland alike.
But meantime, the organisers are putting the final touches to the livestock , poultry and waterfowl show; to the food and craft competitions and fair; to the trade stand exhibits and the demonstrations and seminars.
The livestock shows have attracted entries from a wide range of breeds – six breeds of pig, fourteen breeds of sheep and five breeds of goat. Tim Tyne, well-known smallholder and author of “The Sheep Book for Smallholders” is judging the sheep interbreed Champion, with the winner taking home silverware, a bag of feed donated by Marriages Feeds. And the Champion goat will win a year’s subscription to “Smallholder” magazine for its exhibitor, kindly donated by the publisher.
