Count down to Scottish Smallholders Show!

Final arrangements for the Scottish Smallholder and Grower are now underway. The Festival, which takes place on Sunday 30th September at Forfar Market, Angus, is the first event in Scotland dedicated to smallholders, crofters, those producing food on modest acreages (and those who would like to).

As well as a range of trade stands, there are food and craft stalls, a range of breed societies and a programme of demonstrations and seminars. Full programme is on the website www.scottishsmallholdershow.co.uk
Entries for the craft and produce show, and for the sausage competition, can be made on the day until 9am. Potential exhibitors of non-perishable craft entries who can’t make the 9am deadline can post them to the organisers, who will arrange for them to be entered.
One of the organisers, Rosemary Champion, said, “it’s pretty much all in place now, with only the final details to sort out. We hope we’ve put together the event that folk want and that they will turn out to exhibit and come along on the day to enjoy the programme and the atmosphere.”
The Festival is being covered by BBC Scotland’s “Landward” programme – one of its well-known presenters, Euan McIlwraith, is judging the sausage competition.
