Traditional Country Show in London
9:00am Sunday 26th August 2012 in News
The Phoenix Garden will be holding the fourth Agricultural Show & St Giles Fayre on Saturday 1st September in the Phoenix Garden and the adjoining St Giles-in-the-Fields churchyard.
Confirmed for the event are; rare breed farm animals from Miller’s Ark Mobile Farm, the London Pride Morris Dancers, Punch & Judy, West London Beekeepers Association, the People’s Supermarket, St Giles Bellringers, Crystal Palace Brass Band and other attractions.
The annual agricultural show is a traditional ‘country show’ in the heart of the West End and an exciting day out for visitors of all ages.
The Phoenix garden is a community garden and is managed by local volunteers and a community gardener, to provide a green retreat from the stress of the city and essential habitat for urban wildlife.
Christopher Raeburn, the Phoenix Community Gardener says: “I am very excited about this years event. Last year was a huge success with over 800 visitors. Everyone was amazed to see sheep grazing in St Giles churchyard and it was hilarious to see peoples’ reactions to the loud “eeyores” of the donkeys. We have worked really hard this year to extend the range of attractions – I am sure everyone will love the show as much as I will!”
