Steaming in Suffolk - engines on road run
11:52am Saturday 11th August 2012 in News
Hoping to find time to go to the Suffolk Steam Road Run at Sudbury and surrounding areas this weekend 11th and 12th August. Organised by East Anglian Traction Engine Society of which I am a proud member, some 15 plus steam vehicles are trundling around the beautiful Suffolk countryside for the weekend. What a sight that will be! On Saturday afternoon they are steaming into Long Melford where they will park up not far from the Cock and Bell pub so plenty of chance to go and get close up and personal with these lovely old girls – the steam engines I mean! On Sunday they are taking lunch at the Swan Little Waldingfield so another chance to catch up with them there. If I can fit in a couple of hours between hay turning, I will jump in the car and go and see them, otherwise I’ll have to wait for Haddenham steam rally in September. If I win the lottery I’m going to buy one!
