Beekeepers learn how to present honey for shows
11:21am Wednesday 1st August 2012 in News
HUntingdon Beekeepers Association learnt how to present honey at local and national shows from successful exhibitor, Chris Evans of Cambridgeshire. Making it sound straightforward and achievable, Chris ran through all the show sections from jars of honey (must have a matching pair) through to wax comb (should be even) to wax products (do not overheat!).
Along the way he gave many uses for discarded products such as cooking with overheated honey and gave insight into the world of a successful honey and honey product seller. He brought many samples to demonstrate the right and wrong way to do things and the evening finished off with a cheery discussion on making Mead!
Huntingdon are having their show on the 1 September at Hitchinbroke Park, Huntingdon. For details contact www.huntsbka.org.uk
