Compassion in World Farming will hold its annual Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards at the Union Grand Lodge in London on Wednesday 6 July 2011. The event awards food companies making positive steps towards higher farm animal welfare standards, attracting huge brands such as McDonalds, Hellmans, Mr Kipling and all the major supermarkets in the UK.

The evening will be hosted by TV chef and farm animal welfare advocate, Paul Merrett. Paul will be joined by other celebrity guests who will present awards and motivate the audience to continue its good work for farm animals in the UK.

The Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards is a unique industry event, which includes accolades such as The Good Egg, The Good Chicken, The Supermarket Awards, and new this year, The Good Dairy Award.

Winners in 2010 included: Waitrose, Coca-Cola, Virgin Trains, Pret a Manger and numerous local councils and universities.
