A SMALLHOLDER supplier that used to be based in Shropshire has recently relocated to Wiltshire.

Ascott Smallholding Suppliers, which was purchased by husband and wife team Mark and Kate Self in autumn 2010, has moved to Units 21/22, Whitewalls in Easton Grey, Malmesbury.

Managing Director of the family-run business, Mark explained: “The business is web-based but in March we will be launching a showroom and counter sales at our new premises. The need to expand was one of the main drivers for the business move.”

Ascott Smallholding Suppliers stocks all the smallholder might need to succeed. This includes everything for chickens and small animals, such as incubators and feed, plus jam, cheese and cider making items.

Mark added: “We have hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide and they vary from professional smallholders, earning a living from the land and the animals they tend, to urban dwellers who keep hens in their gardens for pleasure.”

The company will also host regular events including meat smoking and preserve making demonstrations and courses in 2012.

Mark continued: “Now we’re at the helm of the business we want to build on the company’s already good reputation as a supplier of general smallholder products and equipment.

“We also want to focus on the company’s unique selling points of good old-fashioned, friendly, customer service, free expert advice and assistance, experienced and knowledgeable staff and provision of support online or via the telephone.”
