The Cornish Guild of Smallholders’ annual show which has moved from Penncarrow to the Royal Cornwall Showground will be held on Saturday August 21.
This change of venue has opened up a whole new range of opportunities for the show which will offer a showcase for local food, country crafts and traditional country show entertainment.
There will be a farmers market, crafts (all made In Cornwall), traditional fair games swing boats, horticulture, archery, Punch and Judy show and much more.
Pirates of St Piran 18th Century Pirate re-enactment group – scenarios including sword fights and shanty singing. There will also be alpacas, heavy horses, Shetlands, display of native ponies and goats.
The annual show has been running since 2001. Previously it has been within the grounds of Pencarrow House and Gardens.
“Our show is based upon a traditional Country Fair with an abundance of traditional entertainment with a sprinkling of contemporary activities that blend well into the show as well as the focus of a great ‘family’ day out, said Elaine Barr for the Cornish Guild of Smallholders.
“The show is a day of celebration of the wonderful treasures Cornwall has to offer, with its superb local food, produced by artisan producers.”
