With the party season upon us, eggs are a go-to with a secret ingredient to help get over the morning after a big night out.
Eggs are one of nature’s most nutrient-dense foods throughout the year - containing high quality protein, as well as being naturally rich in vitamin D, B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B12, iodine, selenium and other essential dietary vitamins and minerals.
Eggs can also help fight your hangover due to cysteine, the amino acid found in eggs. Cysteine counteracts the poisonous effects of acetaldehyde, the chemical produced by the body as it metabolises alcohol. Acetaldehyde is responsible for the headaches, nausea and other unpleasant consequences of drinking one glass too many.
