Hedgehogs eat slugs
In late spring these prickly beauties come out of hibernation so do be especially careful while strimming the smallholding.
If you would like to see hedgehogs on your land there are ways of encouraging them:
* Make sure there is easy access by having 13cm (5”) square gaps at base of boundaries
* Leave out meat based pet food, chopped unsalted peanuts and sunflower hearts
* Provide fresh water to drink
