Members of staff at the headquarters of Countrywide Farmers providers of products and services to make country life better, took part in the annual nationwide 'Bring Your Dog To Work Day'; raising £263.35 for Dogs for the Disabled.

On June 26th, Countrywide Farmers' head office in Evesham had a few extra members of staff of the four-legged kind; as employees brought their pooches in for 'Bring Your Dog To Work Day'. The nationwide annual event takes place in order for people to raise money for dog-related charities.

With Dogs for the Disabled being Countrywide Farmers' company charity, it was decided that all funds raised on the day would be donated to the worthy cause. The charity's work involves transforming the lives of people living with disabilities by creating partnerships between them and specially trained assistance dogs.

On 'Bring Your Dog To Work Day' last Friday, 24 members of staff brought their pets into work with them; with 25 dogs in total getting a taste of office life for the day.

A cake sale and tombola game were held in the office on the day, with £263.35 raised in total for Dogs for the Disabled. A dog agility course was set up outside of the offices for canine colleagues to enjoy and a dog fancy dress competition was also held. The winner was Humphrey who was dressed as a dinosaur, owned by Rachael Osborne.

John Hardman, CEO of Countrywide Farmers plc, said the following about Bring Your Dog To Work Day: "A big part of what we do here at Countrywide Farmers and much of the stock in our stores revolves around animals. We loved the idea of supporting Dogs for the Disabled with Bring Your Dog To Work Day, as it fits with our ethos perfectly.

"The day was a great success and it was fantastic to have some of our four legged friends in the office for a day. Far from being too much of a distraction, we felt that having dogs in the office for the day was great for employee productivity and wellbeing, so it's certainly something we'll be thinking about in future."
