THE Mare and Foal Sanctuary is delighted to have opened two new shops in Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth. Full of beautiful gifts, clothing and Sanctuary goods, the local stores were buzzing at opening ceremonies last week as staff welcomed dozens of customers inside.

Based at 4a Fore Street and 48 High Street respectively, the Budleigh and Sidmouth shops are just a few miles from the charity’s Newton Abbot base. Both will help to raise more funds towards the Sanctuary’s vital work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming horses in need.

Now the charity is looking for more volunteers to help ensure the shops’ success.

Sarah Hallett, Area Shop Manager for The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, said: “We’re so pleased to have opened in these two lovely seaside towns and the feedback we’ve had so far has been great.

“Now we’re now looking for volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the shops – even if it’s only a few hours a week we’d love to hear from anyone who may be interested.

“In the meantime we look forward to meeting lots more people as they come and see our new shops, whether it’s to find that perfect gift or to donate unwanted items.

“Thank you to all of our customers and volunteers for their ongoing support, as it really helps us to look after horses in need.”
