Priding itself on its abundance of native bluebells, the Godolphin Estate near Helston in Cornwall is preparing to welcome the warm weather and embrace the outdoors amid the beauty of this characteristically springtime flower.

The gardener’s potting shed holds a wealth of information on the native species, and the threat of the dominant Spanish bluebell, which can be seen throughout Cornwall.

It’s not just Godolphin’s bluebell wood that is ready to burst in to life with the native flowers. They can be seen throughout the woodland and garden on the historic estate.

The estate is opening on Sunday, May 11 at 11am for ‘Save our native bluebell!’: an informative guided walk, free with admission, from Godolphin’s gardener-in-charge Juliet Turner.

Godolphin will be open as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) on this day, and therefore all admission fees will be donated to the NGS’ nominated beneficiary charities.

Juliet said: "Over the next couple of weeks bluebells can once again be seen in their full splendour. It’s the perfect time to visit and take advantage of these beautiful springtime flowers in the sunshine."
