Question - Is it possible to accurately measure an acre?

Answer Originally an acre was what it was thought a man and a beast could plough in one day – though it would have been exhausting in some conditions. I think I would rather have lived on sandy land! In theory an acre is 0.405 hectares – one hectare equals 2.47 acres. A hectare is 10,000 square metres. I say in theory as some people say that a Welsh acre is bigger than an English acre and others claim regional variations!
