Want to be a beekeeper? Well now you can with the Leicestershire and Rutland Beekeepers Association! Join us and learn all about it by enjoying the new free courses for 2015 that will start in March.

Five theory classes provide a complete background to beekeeping and the practical knowledge you will need to take up the craft. Once the spring weather arrives and things start to warm up in April, the twelve practical sessions at the hive side begin!

All classes are led by experienced beekeepers at our two training sites in the north and south of Leicestershire. You will get to handle bees and learn all the skills needed to work with them safely and have hives of your own.

Once the course is over, you’re not left on your own. Support and mentoring are available at any time through the year! We also run additional intermediate and advanced beekeeping courses free for members who wish to take their training further.

Membership costs just £30 for 2015, dropping to £25 in 2016.
