A swarm of 20,0000 bees has made its home in a green Nissan Micra. George Heal, a 21-year-old student from Southsea, Hampshire was stunned to find his car had been turned into a temporary hive.

There have been numerous reports of swarms of bees over the last few weeks thanks to the recent spate of warm weather which has increased colony sizes of beekeepers hives. When a colony becomes too large, a second queen bee will lead a swarm to a new home. Mr Heal contacted Portsmouth Council, concerned for the safety of children in the area. Local bee collector, Graham Cook, caught the swarm of European honey bees to be taken to a new home.
